Residents and fans of Brevard County high school sports have until noon on Thursday, Feb. 26, to vote for the PuroClean of Melbourne Girls Athlete of the Week. The ballot is available at 321preps.com and floridatoday.com, with voting restricted to once per device per hour. The previous winner was Malia Santos of Cocoa Beach wrestling.
Five athletes are nominated for their performances between Feb. 16-21. Leila Bryant of Holy Trinity scored 31 points, five rebounds, and three steals in the Tigers' Region 2-2A semifinal win over West Shore on Feb. 20. Charlotte Chamberlin of Satellite lacrosse had eight goals and one assist in a win over Melbourne on Feb. 17, adding four goals and one assist against Merritt Island on Feb. 19.
Sanau Jhagroo of Rockledge track and field won the 400 meters (58.33 seconds) and triple jump (33-10 feet) at the Rockledge Raider Classic on Feb. 21. Ryauna Nepomuceno of Viera wrestling claimed the 125-pound championship at the Region 2-1A competition on Feb. 20. Jordan Stout of Eau Gallie softball contributed two RBI, two hits, and one run in a win over Rockledge on Feb. 17, while also striking out five batters and pitching four scoreless innings.
Coaches and athletic directors can nominate athletes each week by emailing [email protected] by 10 a.m. each Sunday with accomplishments from the prior Monday through Saturday. The 2025-26 winners include Malia Santos, Rylee Beville of Cocoa Beach wrestling, and Aaliyah Lawrence of Melbourne Central Catholic.
