🏖️ Beach Day Gear
Shade, sun protection and the things that make a full day on an east-facing beach with an afternoon sea breeze comfortable.
Shibumi Shade
The wind-powered canopy you see all over Cocoa Beach. Needs the sea breeze, which the Space Coast has most afternoons. No poles to fight.

Umbrella-plus-side-panels that anchors into the sand. Better than a plain umbrella on a breezy east-facing beach.

Straps on your back for the walk over the dune crossovers, reclines flat, pouch for the phone and keys.
View on Amazon →SunSun Bum Mineral SPF 50
Zinc-based, no oxybenzone or octinoxate, which is what you want in the water here. Reapply every two hours; the UV index tops 10 most summer days.
View on Amazon →CoolerYETI Hopper Flip 12
Soft cooler that keeps ice through a full beach day in August. Carries over the sand more easily than a hard cooler.
