Fans across Brevard County can cast their final vote for the PuroClean of Melbourne Boys Athlete of the Year, with voting open through Friday, June 5 at noon. The selection follows 34 weekly awards given to student-athletes during the 2025-26 school year, with 15 finalists now competing for the annual honor. Each nominee comes from a different school, reflecting the breadth of athletic talent in the region.
The finalists include Evan Spreitzer of Holy Trinity, who placed third at the Cecil Field Summer Classic with a 15:28 cross country time on August 22. Lincoln Moyer of Astronaut made headlines by bowling a perfect 300 game at Shore Lanes Merritt Island on September 9. Cayden Sylvester of Bayside earned recognition with a 259 bowling score at Shore Lanes Palm Bay on October 9. Other nominees include Trent Payne of Titusville, who dominated swimming events in October, and Zaylan Chapple of Cocoa, who scored four rushing touchdowns in the BBQ Bowl on October 30.
Voters can access the ballot online, though they may need to refresh the page if it doesn't load initially. The process is the culmination of a yearlong effort by Florida Today to highlight standout performances across Brevard schools. Finalists were selected based on their weekly achievements, with each athlete’s accomplishments detailed in the original voting entries.
