Vandals caused more than $30,000 in damage to a newly constructed home in Palm Bay earlier this week, police said. The incident occurred on a residential street in the 1000 block of South Patrick Street, a quiet neighborhood just south of the Cocoa-Palm Bay line. Homeowner Michael Torres, who moved into the house last month, discovered the damage after returning from a weekend trip. "It was like someone wanted to destroy everything," Torres told 321 Daily. "Windows were shattered, doors kicked in, and the kitchen was ransacked."
Palm Bay police are investigating the vandalism, which occurred between Monday and Wednesday. Officers responded to the scene after Torres reported the damage, finding broken glass, scattered debris, and signs of forced entry. The estimated cost to repair the property includes replacing three shattered windows, reconstructing a front door, and cleaning up debris. "This isn’t just a property crime—it’s a targeted attack," said Officer Lisa Nguyen, who is leading the investigation. "We’re treating it as a felony."
