Titusville High School's baseball team dropped a 10-0 decision to Satellite High School on April 10 at Satellite Beach's Fred C. Haines Jr. Stadium. The loss extends Titusville's record to 10-10 on the season, while Satellite improves to 14-12. The game, part of a non-conference matchup, saw the Terriers struggle offensively, managing just two hits and four errors in the defeat.
Satellite struck first in the bottom of the first inning, scoring two runs on three hits and a Titusville error. The lead grew to 3-0 by the third inning after a two-run double by Satellite's Jake Martinez. Titusville's starting pitcher, senior Ethan Lopez, surrendered seven runs on six hits over seven innings, though he struck out five batters.
The Terriers managed only one baserunner in the game, a second-inning single by junior shortstop Marcus Rivera. Satellite's offense exploded in the seventh inning, adding seven runs on four hits and two Titusville errors. The surge included a three-run home run by Satellite's standout slugger, Liam Carter, who finished the game with three RBI.
Titusville coach Mike Thompson said the team needs to improve defensively. 'We made too many mistakes in the field, and that cost us,' he said. 'We need to regroup quickly before our next game on Thursday.' The loss marks the third straight defeat for Titusville, which remains in the middle of the Space Coast Conference standings.
