Titusville High School's football team scored 44 points in a dominant performance against Holy Trinity on Aug. 28, winning their season opener 44-9 at Holy Trinity's home field. The game, played in front of a packed crowd, featured standout performances by several Terriers players. Elijah 'Tank' Harvey, a senior running back, broke free for a 70-yard touchdown in the first quarter, setting the tone for Titusville's offensive explosion. Senior quarterback Remy Vigne completed 14 of 22 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns, while defensive standout Dewight Jenkins returned a fumble 35 yards for a score in the third quarter. Titusville head coach Matt Diesel praised his team's execution. 'We came out focused and played with energy from the first snap,' Diesel said after the game. 'Our defense made some big plays when we needed them most.' Holy Trinity, which allowed 44 points for the first time in three years, struggled to contain Titusville's rushing attack. Senior running back Tamarion Walker gained 128 yards on 13 carries, and junior wide receiver Deion Bland hauled in five passes for 82 yards. The Tigers' defense forced two turnovers but couldn't stop Titusville's balanced attack. 'We knew coming in that Titusville was going to be physical,' said Holy Trinity coach Brian Billingsley. 'They executed better than we did tonight.' The win improves Titusville's record to 1-0 on the season. The teams will face off again on Oct. 14 at Titusville's home field.
