Fire Chief John Hustoles said the event highlighted the department’s focus on leadership and operational excellence. Battalion Chief David Neeld, Captain Lisa Ford, Lieutenant Jermaine McKoy, and Driver Operators Josh Farner and David Martin received promotions during the ceremony. Hustoles called the promoted personnel “the best of public service.”
The event also included the swearing-in of new firefighters, who will join the department’s ranks. The ceremony drew attendees from across Brevard County, including local officials and community members. Hustoles emphasized the importance of ongoing training and career advancement within the department. “These promotions reflect years of dedication,” he said during the event.
The Titusville Fire Department has 62 full-time firefighters and 15 part-time personnel. Promotions are based on performance evaluations, training completion, and seniority. The department’s leadership has prioritized internal growth in recent years, with 12 promotions announced in 2025 alone. Neeld, who has served for 18 years, said the ceremony was a “moment of pride” for the team.
The event concluded with a flag ceremony and a group photo of the promoted personnel and new recruits. Department officials said the ceremony reinforced their commitment to community safety and professional development. “This is about building a strong, capable team,” Hustoles said. The next promotion ceremony is scheduled for October 2026.
