Titusville's Independence Day parade and fireworks will highlight the nation's 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The Red, White and Boom events are set for July 4, with a parade running from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. starting at Titusville High School and ending in Downtown Titusville. Jennifer Hurd, a realtor assistant, will watch the parade from her office on U.S. 1 with her children. Parade-viewing seats are available at the Pritchard House, with downstairs seating costing $15 and upstairs $20. The Civil Air Patrol Cadets and Titusville Mayor Andrew Connors will participate, with Connors heading to a veterans tribute at City Hall after the parade. Indian River Church is organizing the floats for the event. A second event, the fireworks display, will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Sand Point Park. The Elks Club will display a replica of the original American flag. Volunteers and organizations have coordinated the events, which aim to honor local and national history. The parade and fireworks are part of a broader countywide celebration of the 250th anniversary.
