Eastern Florida State College's softball team swept the College of Central Florida 11-3 and 16-2 on Saturday at Titan Softball Complex in Melbourne, moving to 26-12 in the Citrus Conference. The Titans, who celebrated Sophomore Day during the twin bill, outscored their opponents 27-5 across both games.
In the first game, the Titans erupted for nine runs in the first inning, highlighted by Annalyn Duncan's three-run home run—her 12th of the season. Aracelis Jimenez and Jessica Merk each added two-run singles in the frame. The Patriots scored two runs in the third inning but could not overcome the early deficit.
The second game saw the Titans dominate from the start, scoring 16 runs on 14 hits. Kerissa Howell doubled and scored on Isabel Otero's RBI triple in the second inning, while Madison Velazquez drove in two runs with a double in the fourth. The Patriots managed only two runs in the fifth inning.
Eastern Florida State College coach Sarah Mitchell said the team's offensive explosion was fueled by strong pitching and clutch hitting. 'We've been working on situational hitting all season,' Mitchell said. 'Today, our players executed every part of the plan.'
The Titans now sit in third place in the Citrus Conference standings. Their next game is scheduled for Tuesday against the Florida State College at Jacksonville. The team's 26-12 record marks a significant improvement from their 2025 season, when they finished 18-22.
