Tesla has submitted plans to establish a second dealership in Brevard County, according to documents filed with the county’s development services department. The proposed location is near the existing Tesla dealership on State Road 520 in Cocoa, which opened in 2021. The new site would be on a 10-acre parcel near the intersection of Saturn Avenue and Jupiter Boulevard in Palm Bay, according to the application. The company has not yet disclosed the estimated cost of the project or the number of jobs it could create. The proposal comes as Tesla continues to expand its footprint in Florida, where it operates 14 dealerships across the state. Local officials have not commented publicly on the application, but the county’s economic development office said it is reviewing the proposal. The existing Tesla dealership in Cocoa has generated over $15 million in annual sales since opening, according to county records. If approved, the new dealership could open as early as 2025, pending final approvals from the county and state agencies. The application includes environmental impact assessments and traffic studies, which are standard for large commercial projects. The proposed site is within a designated retail corridor that includes several automotive and technology companies. The county has seen increased interest from automotive manufacturers in recent years, driven in part by Brevard’s growing population and proximity to major highways. The new Tesla dealership would be the first in the Palm Bay area, which has seen a surge in residential and commercial development over the past decade. The company’s application is currently under review by the county’s planning and zoning board, which is expected to hold a public hearing in late 2024.
