Cocoa Mayor Michael Blake joined Taylor Morrison’s Orlando Division at the grand opening of Windward Preserve in June 2026, marking the company’s return to the Space Coast after a years-long hiatus. The development, now open for sales, will eventually include 347 single-family homes on 200 acres near Port Canaveral. Located close to Interstate 95 and future Brightline Railroad stops, the community targets commuters and families seeking proximity to both Orlando and Brevard County job centers.
Windward Preserve’s layout emphasizes connectivity, with easy access to State Roads 528, 520, and 524, as well as US-1. Taylor Morrison’s Orlando Division President Ericka Pace highlighted the site’s appeal, noting its balance of employment access and recreational opportunities. ‘The community is ideally positioned to attract residents working in both the Orlando and Space Coast employment hubs,’ she said, adding that the area’s beaches and lifestyle amenities add to its draw.
The development offers eight floor plans starting in the high $300s, with the four-bedroom St. Croix model priced from $550,000. The model includes a flex room and a three-car garage, reflecting the community’s focus on family-friendly designs. Amenities like a clubhouse, pool, and dog park are set to open alongside the homes.
Plans also include a National Wildlife Federation Monarch Butterfly Garden, signaling an emphasis on sustainability. With sales underway and construction expected to continue through 2027, Windward Preserve aims to fill a gap in Cocoa’s housing market while leveraging the area’s growing infrastructure.
