The incident began around 4:00 p.m. on March 23 when officers arrived at a home on Jupiter Boulevard and Serenade Street following reports of a shooting disturbance. Chief of Police Mariano Augello confirmed the woman fired a gun at responding officers from inside the residence. Police returned fire during the encounter, and officers entered the home at 7:19 p.m. to find the woman dead. No other individuals were present inside the house at that time.
