Cocoa Beach is preparing for its annual Summer Block Party Beach Bash, a free community event scheduled for the first weekend in July. The gathering will take place on the beachfront near the Cocoa Beach Pier, a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Organizers expect hundreds of attendees to enjoy the festivities, which include live music, food trucks, and interactive games for children.
The event, organized by the Cocoa Beach Business Improvement District, aims to bring residents together during the summer months. Local businesses will set up booths along the shoreline, offering samples of their products and services. Food vendors will serve everything from classic seafood platters to vegan burgers, catering to a wide range of tastes."This is a chance for families to relax and have fun without leaving the beach," said BID spokesperson Sarah Mitchell.
Activities will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, with a special youth soccer tournament starting at noon. The beach will also host a sandcastle competition for children under 12, judged by local artists. Lifeguards will be on duty throughout the event, and free parking is available in nearby lots.
The bash has become a staple of Cocoa Beach’s summer calendar, drawing visitors from across Brevard County. Last year’s event saw over 1,200 attendees, according to city records. Organizers are encouraging residents to bring blankets and chairs for the beachside seating area, which will be set up near the pier."It’s a great way to support local businesses while enjoying the ocean," said Mitchell."We’re excited to see the community come together again this year."
