SpaceX is targeting a historic milestone on Tuesday, Aug. 25, when a Falcon 9 rocket will launch 29 Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The mission, scheduled during a four-hour window opening at 1:49 a.m. EDT, will mark the 100th Falcon 9 flight of 2026 and the 37th mission for booster B1067, which has already flown 36 times. The launch will be streamed live via SpaceX’s website, with coverage beginning about 10 minutes before liftoff.
The Falcon 9 has dominated global spaceflight in recent years, with 165 successful missions in 2025 alone—more than all other orbital rockets combined. Its success hinges on reusing first-stage boosters, a practice that cuts costs and accelerates launches. This mission will extend the record for reused boosters, as B1067 surpasses its own previous mark. Other Falcon 9 boosters, including B1077 and B1078, have each completed at least 30 flights, while B1069 has flown 32 times.
Despite SpaceX’s dominance, competitors are making progress. In the past six weeks, two Chinese rockets successfully landed after orbital missions, though neither has yet returned to the launch pad for a second flight. SpaceX, however, continues to push boundaries. The company currently has six Falcon 9 boosters with 30 or more flights, with B1067 leading at 36.
SpaceX’s long-term goal is even more ambitious. The company’s Starship rocket, under development, aims to be fully reusable and capable of multiple daily flights. This mission underscores SpaceX’s ongoing efforts to refine reusable rocket technology, which has become a cornerstone of its operations at Cape Canaveral and beyond.
