Residents in Port Orange reported seeing a SpaceX rocket in the sky early Tuesday after its launch from Cape Canaveral. The Falcon 9 rocket, which lifted off at 7:15 a.m., was visible for several minutes over the Space Coast before disappearing into the atmosphere. Local officials confirmed the sighting but said it was not unusual for rockets to be seen in the region following launches. "It’s a common occurrence," said Brevard County spokeswoman Lisa Martinez. "We get reports like this after nearly every SpaceX mission." The rocket was en route to a classified mission for the U.S. government, a detail confirmed by SpaceX in a brief statement. No injuries or property damage were reported from the sighting. The launch marked the 30th mission for SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket this year, according to tracking data from the Florida Space Coast. The rocket’s first stage landed successfully at the Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 13, a routine part of SpaceX’s operations. While the sighting drew curiosity from residents, it also sparked questions about the increasing frequency of launches in the area. "We’re used to seeing rockets, but it’s still impressive," said Port Orange resident Mark Thompson, who photographed the event. "It’s a reminder of how much activity there is up at the Cape."
