The first-stage booster, which made its 37th flight, landed on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean. The second stage continued to orbit, deploying the Starlink satellites to expand SpaceX’s global broadband network. Local residents and skywatchers captured images of the event, sharing them on social media with tags like #SpaceJellyfish and #SpaceCoastMagic. The phenomenon, called noctilucent clouds, is rare and typically occurs when rocket exhaust particles interact with sunlight at high altitudes.
SpaceX has conducted over 100 Starlink launches since 2019, with increasing frequency as the company aims to deploy thousands of satellites. The jellyfish-like display lasted several minutes before dissipating, leaving some observers in awe. 'It looked like something out of a sci-fi movie,' said one witness in Titusville. The launch marked another milestone for the Space Coast, which hosts more than 20 launch pads and supports both government and commercial space operations.
The event highlights the growing presence of space activity in Brevard County, where SpaceX, Blue Origin, and NASA frequently conduct missions.
