The company plans to increase its launch frequency at Cape Canaveral in 2025, aiming for 12 missions annually. Brevard County commissioners are reviewing proposals for infrastructure upgrades to handle the growth. SpaceX representatives have met with officials to discuss road expansions and emergency response plans.
While SpaceX’s activities dominate headlines, smaller aerospace firms in the county are also growing. Companies like Blue Origin and Rocket Lab have partnerships with local universities, fostering STEM education programs. The Space Coast’s economy relies heavily on the aerospace sector, which contributed $14.3 billion to the region in 2023, per a University of Central Florida study.
