"It’s always exciting to see a launch up close," said one attendee, a retired engineer from Cocoa who traveled 45 minutes to be there. The event marked the third commercial launch of the year from the spaceport, according to NASA. Nearby, a small food truck sold ice cream to cooling visitors, while others used telescopes to track the rocket’s ascent. The park, which sits about 15 miles from the launch pads, has become a popular spot for locals and tourists during major missions. Officials said the area can hold up to 500 people, though crowds often exceed that number. A SpaceX representative confirmed the launch was part of a routine cargo mission to the International Space Station. The next scheduled launch is set for early next week, with viewing opportunities expected to open again at the same location.
