The Space Coast's 2025 total surpassed all previous annual records, driven largely by SpaceX operations. April 2026 marked another milestone with NASA's Artemis II mission, which launched from Kennedy Space Center and sent four astronauts on a lunar flyby. However, the month also saw setbacks, including Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket explosion during a hot fire test at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station's Launch Complex 36.
As of June 29, 2026, Florida had already recorded 43 rocket launches this year. July's schedule is expected to return to a SpaceX-heavy pace, with launches potentially visible as far north as Jacksonville Beach and as far south as West Palm Beach. In some cases, rockets launched from the East Coast have been spotted on the West Coast and in other states.
Residents and visitors can watch NASA content through Amazon Prime Video, including footage from the Artemis II mission. The two July launches will be the first in the Space Coast's Fourth of July week, adding to the area's reputation as a hub for space activity. No other launches are currently scheduled for the week, though weather conditions could affect timelines.
