The festival has been a staple of Viera’s calendar since 2014, drawing thousands of visitors annually. Organizers say the event has grown in recent years, with new attractions added each season. A petting zoo opened in 2022, and the pie-eating contest expanded to include both adults and children in 2023. The Mother-Daughter contest, which drew over 100 participants in 2025, will return this year with prizes from local businesses. The Miss Strawberry Fest pageant will crown a new queen, with previous winners including 14-year-old Lila Martinez in 2024. Festival organizers emphasize the event’s role in supporting local agriculture. Over 50% of the strawberries sold at the festival come from farms within 50 miles of Viera. The event also partners with the Brevard County Extension Office to educate visitors about sustainable farming practices.
