The loss extends Space Coast’s season record to 9-13, while Merritt Island improves to 13-12. The game, played in front of a sparse crowd, saw Merritt Island dominate in the early innings.
Space Coast struggled offensively, managing just 8 runs on 8 hits and 4 errors. Merritt Island, meanwhile, capitalized on defensive opportunities, scoring 13 runs on 12 hits. The Mustangs’ offense exploded in the first inning, scoring 2 runs, and never looked back. Space Coast managed to claw back with 5 runs in the fifth inning but couldn’t overcome the early deficit.
