The Space Coast ended 2025 with a record 109 orbital launches from SpaceX, United Launch Alliance and Blue Origin. That number surpassed previous years and set a new benchmark for the region. 2026 is shaping up to be just as busy, with all three commercial providers increasing their schedules and NASA preparing to launch the Space Launch System rocket on Artemis II. "We’re seeing a steady increase in activity," said a spokesperson for the Brevard County Economic Development Commission. "This is good for the local economy and for the space industry overall."
As of June 4, 2026, there have been 38 orbital launches from the Space Coast this year. Of those, 36 took place at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and two at Kennedy Space Center. SpaceX has conducted 32 launches so far in 2026, including 31 Falcon 9 rockets and one Falcon Heavy. United Launch Alliance has launched four rockets, including three Atlas V and one Vulcan. Blue Origin has launched once with its New Glenn rocket on the NG-3 mission. NASA is also expected to launch the SLS rocket for Artemis II later this year.
The 2025 total of 109 launches included 83 from Cape Canaveral and 26 from Kennedy Space Center. SpaceX accounted for 101 of those launches, all Falcon 9 rockets. ULA launched six rockets, including five Atlas V and one Vulcan. Blue Origin launched two New Glenn rockets on the NG-1 and NG-2 missions. The year also included four human spaceflights: Crew-10, Fram2, Ax-4 and Crew-11.
In 2024, the Space Coast saw 93 launches, with 67 from Cape Canaveral and 26 from KSC. SpaceX led with 88 launches, including 86 Falcon 9 and two Falcon Heavy rockets. ULA launched five rockets, including two Vulcan, one Delta IV Heavy and two Atlas V. The year included five human spaceflights: Axiom Space Ax-3, SpaceX Crew-8, Boeing Crew Flight Test, Polaris Dawn and Crew-9.
The most recent launch occurred on June 4, 2026, when a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 at 6:26 a.m. The rocket carried 29 Starlink satellites on the Starlink 10-43 mission. The launch was the 32nd for SpaceX in 2026 and the 11th Starlink mission of the year.
