SpaceX has conducted 47 of those missions, including 46 Falcon 9 launches from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Space Launch Complex 40 and one Falcon Heavy from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39-A. United Launch Alliance added five launches, with four Atlas V rockets and one Vulcan from Space Launch Complex 41. Blue Origin flew its New Glenn rocket once from Launch Complex 36, and NASA launched the Space Launch System for Artemis II from KSC’s Launch Complex 39-B.
The numbers highlight SpaceX’s dominance at the Cape, where Falcon 9s have become a regular sight. The company’s launches have included cargo missions to the International Space Station, Starlink satellite deployments, and crewed flights. The single Falcon Heavy launch this year carried a classified payload for the U.S. government, according to officials.
ULA’s activity has focused on national security and commercial satellites. Its Atlas V rockets have been used for military and intelligence missions, while the Vulcan debut marked the company’s first flight with its new heavy-lift vehicle. Blue Origin’s New Glenn launch was part of a test flight, with the company planning more missions from the same pad in 2027.
NASA’s Artemis II mission, which lifted off in May, marked the first crewed flight of the SLS rocket. The mission carried astronauts around the moon and back, setting the stage for future lunar landings. Launches at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral have continued to draw crowds, with viewing areas at the Space Coast’s popular tourist spots like the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
With 54 launches already this year, Brevard County is on track to surpass previous records. SpaceX has not announced its full 2026 schedule, but industry analysts expect the company to maintain its high pace of launches from both Cape Canaveral and KSC.
