Space Coast High School's football team is getting ready for the 2023 season, with practices set to begin in August. The team, based in Cocoa, Florida, is part of the Brevard County school district and competes in the Florida High School Athletic Association. Head coach Jason Smith has been with the program for five years and is focused on building a strong foundation for the team. 'We're working hard to improve every day,' Smith said during a recent practice. The team's home games are held at Space Coast High School's stadium, which has a capacity of 3,500 fans. Parents and students have been attending open practices to see the team's progress. The school's football program has a history of producing players who go on to compete at the collegiate level. Last season, the team finished with a 6-5 record, and several players received college scholarship offers. With a new season on the horizon, the team is aiming to build on that success. 'Our goal is to be competitive in our conference and make it to the playoffs,' Smith added. The first game of the season is scheduled for August 26 against Merritt Island High School.
