The final score marked a 9-point margin in favor of Space Coast, which struggled to maintain consistency throughout the contest.
The game saw a back-and-forth first half, with Space Coast leading 6-2 after the first quarter before Cocoa Beach closed the gap to 18-14 at halftime. The Vipers regained control in the third quarter, outscoring the Minutemen 5-6 to take a 23-20 lead entering the final frame. Strong defense in the fourth quarter helped Space Coast seal the win, despite Cocoa Beach’s effort to rally.
Space Coast’s offense struggled in the first half, scoring just 6 points in the opening quarter. The team’s shooting percentage dropped to 32% in the first half, but improved to 42% in the second half. Cocoa Beach’s defense limited Space Coast to 22 points in the first half, but the Vipers’ bench contributed 12 points in the fourth quarter to push the lead to 9.
The win gives Space Coast a boost in the conference standings, while Cocoa Beach remains winless in conference play this season.
