A 750,000-square-foot retail center in West Melbourne has sold for $78.5 million. The property, called Hammock Landing, is located at the intersection of Morse Boulevard and Wickham Road. The sale was arranged by Atlantic Capital Partners, which represented the seller in the transaction. The buyer was not disclosed. Hammock Landing has been anchored by Target and Kohl’s since its opening. Other tenants include Marshalls, HomeGoods, Ross Dress for Less, Academy Sports + Outdoors, and Petco. The center’s first phase opened in 2009, with a second phase added in 2014. The property is part of a joint venture between CBL Properties and The Benchmark Group. Justin Smith, Sam Koonce, Dean Sands, Chris Peterson, Fred Victor, and Matt Ericson of Atlantic Capital Partners handled the deal. The shopping center is one of the largest in Brevard County. It has 750,000 square feet of retail space across two phases. The sale comes as the Space Coast continues to see growth in commercial real estate. Hammock Landing is near the Kennedy Space Center and the University of Central Florida’s East Campus. The property has remained occupied throughout the pandemic. Tenants such as Buffalo Wild Wings, AT&T, Ulta Beauty, and SunTrust Bank have stayed in place. The center’s location is a key factor in its value. It sits on 100 acres of land in a high-traffic area. The sale price reflects strong demand for retail spaces in the region. Atlantic Capital Partners has a history of handling large commercial transactions. This deal is one of the largest retail sales in the area this year. The buyer’s identity remains unknown, but the transaction is expected to impact local economic development.
