A school holiday can leave a gap between a child's day off and a parent's working hours. Start with the exact date and pickup time you need, then compare a specific camp session. A provider's summer program or an old directory listing does not establish school-break availability.

Source check: October 21, 2026. The Zoo program details below come from its current camp page. County links are tools for finding individual listings, not a promise of a place on any date. Confirm the session, eligibility, total charge and cancellation terms before registering.

Brevard Zoo: check the Mini Camps calendar

The Zoo's official camps page describes one-day Mini Camps for students in grades 1–5 during school holidays and Brevard Public Schools teacher workdays. It lists an October–April season and hours of 8 AM–4 PM.

The posted Mini Camp prices are $60 for Zoo members and $65 for non-members. The page lists Winter Camps separately at $120 for members and $130 for non-members; do not treat those as the same product or assume either price covers a whole break. Open the Zoo-linked registration calendar for the actual session dates, format and availability.

Planning implication: a 4 PM finish may leave an afternoon care gap. This Mini Camp grade range also does not establish eligibility for a kindergartner or an older sibling. Check the selected session before making a family plan.

County recreation: compare individual centers and dates

Use the Brevard Parks and Recreation calendar to search by month, the Camp tag and location. Open the individual event for its date, center, hours and registration instructions. The calendar distinguishes active, canceled and previous events; a past camp listing is not a future booking option.

The department website also provides a Program Registration link. We have not verified a county-wide school-break price or grade range. Compare the specific center's current listing rather than budgeting from a general daily estimate.

Five checks before choosing a camp

  1. Match the exact day. Confirm that the session covers your child's actual day off. A winter-break program may cover only part of the break.
  2. Check the full care window. Compare the permitted drop-off and pickup times with your commute. Ask whether any extended care is included or separately charged.
  3. Check eligibility for each child. Use the session's grade or age rule; do not substitute a provider's summer-camp range.
  4. Compare the full cost. Check membership or residency conditions, registration fees, extended care and supplies. A half-day price is not comparable with a full-day price.
  5. Read the practical terms. Check lunch and medication requirements, accessibility arrangements, cancellation rules and what happens if the session is canceled or full.

What changed in this guide

We removed unverified directory-based prices, ages and hours for seven other providers, the county-wide estimate of about $35 a day, and claims that particular options were budget-friendly or reliable. We also removed predictions about when 2027 programs would be announced. This does not establish that a provider has stopped operating; it means those details are not a verified basis for planning here.

For other family activities, return to our Brevard family guide. Treat earlier seasonal camp directories as historical starting points until an organizer posts the specific session you need.
