The game, played in front of a sparse crowd, saw Satellite dominate from the start, outscoring Cocoa Beach in every quarter.
Satellite's offense was relentless, with the team shooting 48% from the field and converting 12 three-pointers. Senior guard Jordan Williams led the way with 18 points and six assists, while forward Marcus Johnson added 14 points and eight rebounds. Cocoa Beach struggled offensively, managing just 22% shooting from the field and turning the ball over 24 times.
The win was Satellite's third straight in December, a streak that has lifted the team's ranking in the latest MaxPreps Florida polls. Coach Mike Thompson praised his team's execution, saying, 'We focused on defense early and that set the tone. The kids played unselfish basketball and executed our plays well.'
Cocoa Beach coach Derrick Martinez called the loss a 'learning experience' for his team, noting that his squad was outmatched in multiple areas. 'We need to work on our fundamentals,' Martinez said. 'We didn't take care of the ball and we didn't move without it.'
The game was part of Satellite's December schedule, which includes several non-conference matchups against teams from across the state. The victory gives Satellite a boost as it enters the final stretch of the regular season, with a home game against Rockledge High School scheduled for December 10.
