The library opened in April 1966 after a campaign led by the Satellite Beach Woman’s Club and Satellite Beach Lion’s Club. Over six decades, it has expanded its services while remaining a cornerstone of the community. John Henry Goodman will perform at the event, and the library’s mobile unit will be on display. The Friends of the Satellite Beach Public Library and other local partners are helping organize the day. Library staff say the celebration will highlight the branch’s role in providing educational programs, book collections, and community resources. The event will include a silent disco with headphones available for guests. The library’s hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The anniversary party follows a year of renovations that included updating study areas and technology. Library director Maria Lopez said the event aims to bring residents together. ‘We want to thank the people who have supported us for 60 years,’ she said.
