Brevard Beach has been named the best beach in Brevard County after a reader poll conducted by Florida Today. The survey, which collected responses from across the county, found Brevard Beach ahead of Coral Gables and Cape Coral. The results highlight local preferences for beaches with clean sands and accessible amenities. Over 2,000 votes were cast in the online survey, which ran from March 1 to March 15. Residents cited family-friendly facilities and proximity to nearby attractions as key factors in their choices. The winning beach, located just south of Cocoa Beach, has long been a popular spot for swimmers and sunbathers. Local officials noted the vote reflects growing interest in outdoor recreation along the Space Coast. Coral Gables, a smaller beach near the Indian River, came in second with 450 votes. Cape Coral, a stretch of shoreline near the Sebastian Inlet, received 380 votes. Both beaches are known for their quiet atmosphere and wildlife viewing opportunities. The survey did not include beaches outside Brevard County, despite some readers expressing support for nearby spots like New Smyrna. Organizers said future polls may expand to include neighboring areas. The results will be displayed at the Brevard County Parks and Recreation office through April. No prize was offered for the winning beach, but officials said the data will help guide future improvements to county shorelines.
