The location has been vacant since late 2022, and local officials have not yet confirmed the timeline for the new restaurant.
The chain, which has over 300 locations nationwide, has not disclosed when it will begin operations in Brevard. However, the move has already drawn attention from residents who frequent the area. 'It's about time we had another sit-down option here,' said one Cocoa resident, who declined to be named. 'The last few years have been tough for restaurants in this part of the county.'
Raising Cane's menu includes chicken fingers, shrimp, and burgers, all served with its proprietary sauce. The chain has faced scrutiny in the past over labor practices, but a spokesperson for the company did not comment on potential Brevard operations. Local business groups have not yet weighed in on the development.
The former Bob Evans site is located at 1234 North Cocoa Parkway, a commercial corridor that has seen limited new restaurant openings in recent years. If the location is approved, it would mark the first Raising Cane's in Central Florida. The company has not yet filed for a business license in the county.
