A popular pancake shop in Titusville has reopened for the first time since two emergency shutdowns in October 2023. The shop, which has been a local staple for over a decade, faced temporary closures due to health code violations and a fire alarm malfunction. Owners said the shutdowns were a wake-up call. 'We had to take a step back and fix some long-overlooked issues,' said co-owner Maria Lopez. The shop is now operating under new management protocols. Located at 1234 Palm Boulevard, the restaurant has been serving breakfast since 2012. The first shutdown occurred in early October after inspectors found unsanitary conditions in the kitchen. A second closure followed in late October when a fire alarm malfunction led to an evacuation. Both incidents were reported to the Brevard County Health Department. Lopez said the shop has invested in new equipment and hired additional staff to prevent future problems. The restaurant is now open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and has seen a steady stream of customers. 'People have been supportive,' Lopez said. 'We’re just trying to get back to normal.' The shop’s reopening comes as Brevard County officials continue to emphasize food safety standards. Health department records show the shop passed its most recent inspection in January 2024.
