A new pop-up event has begun transforming Blanton Park in Titusville into a temporary hub for art and community engagement. The initiative, organized by the Titusville Parks and Recreation Department, features rotating installations and monthly workshops starting this month. Located at 1234 Sutherland Boulevard, the park has become a focal point for local artists and residents. 'We wanted a space where creativity can thrive without long-term commitments,' said Parks Director Maria Lopez. The event runs through December 31 and includes free activities for all ages. Blanton Park, which opened in 2018, covers 24 acres and has seen increasing use since its debut. The pop-up format allows for flexibility in programming, with new exhibits and classes added every two weeks. Local artist James Carter, whose work is on display this month, described the project as 'a great way to test ideas without the pressure of permanence.' The park’s 1,500-foot walking trail has become a popular spot for visitors to view the installations. Officials say the event will continue through the end of the year, with plans to evaluate its impact on park usage and community interest. The next installation, featuring interactive sculptures, is set to debut on October 15. The initiative has already drawn praise from nearby neighborhoods, with several families attending the first weekend of activities. 'It’s nice to have something new here without the park changing completely,' said resident Linda Hayes. The event is funded through a combination of city grants and private donations, with organizers hoping to secure additional support for next year’s expansion.
