A 3-year-old Pomeranian named Odin from Merritt Island has gone viral after firefighters had to free him from a baby gate last week. The incident, which was captured on video, has received millions of views online and has made Odin a local celebrity. Odin’s owner, Taylor, said the dog got stuck in the gate while exploring the hallway of their home. "I looked and his head was, like, crammed on the gate," Taylor said. "I grabbed him and I felt like his body and there was no squeezing him out." After Taylor tried to free Odin herself, she called 911. Brevard County Fire Rescue arrived and used spreaders to pry the gate open, successfully rescuing the dog. "They slid him up and got him out," Taylor said. "I don’t know how he maneuvered his little body in there." Since the video of the rescue was posted on TikTok, Odin has gained national attention, including appearances on television. Taylor said the experience has been rewarding. "It’s been so fun," she said. "Just like getting to meet people and watch him make people smile." Taylor said the incident has taught her a lesson. "No more baby gates in our house," she said. Odin’s rescue has highlighted the unexpected ways pets can capture public attention, and his story continues to spread across social media.
