Orlando Health has announced plans to establish an emergency care facility at the former Tupperware headquarters site in Kissimmee. The development comes as the healthcare provider seeks to expand services in central Florida. The site, located at 10000 Tupperware Boulevard, was once the global headquarters for the Tupperware Corporation before the company moved operations in 2018.
The facility will focus on emergency care, though details about other potential services remain unclear. Orlando Health officials did not specify the size of the facility or when construction might begin. The company has not yet submitted plans for review with the City of Kissimmee, but officials said the project is in early planning stages.
The former Tupperware campus spans over 1.2 million square feet and includes office buildings, warehouses, and a research center. The site has been vacant since Tupperware’s departure, though some tenants remain in parts of the complex. Local officials have expressed interest in attracting new businesses to the area, and the proposed healthcare facility could be a draw.
Orlando Health has not disclosed how much the project might cost or how many jobs it could create. The company did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the timeline or scope of the project. The facility would be the first emergency care center in Kissimmee operated by Orlando Health, which already has several hospitals and clinics across the region.
The move follows a broader trend of healthcare providers expanding into suburban areas to meet growing demand. Similar projects have been announced in nearby cities like Lake Mary and Sanford. However, no public hearings or community meetings have been scheduled for the Kissimmee project, according to city records.
