A property on Palomino Drive in Titusville has become a growing concern for neighbors as hurricane season intensifies. The abandoned lot, left with demolition debris and overgrown vegetation, has not been cleaned up despite fines accumulating for over a year. Residents say the situation could become dangerous if strong winds pick up loose materials during a storm. The property was demolished in April after the previous owner died, but debris remains. Patty Evans, a neighbor who lives nearby, said the home started falling apart after the owner passed away. 'There was an older gentleman that lived here and he passed,' Evans said. 'That is when things went downhill.' The home was demolished in April, but the lot is still filled with debris. Brevard County and the Sheriff's Department are aware of the issues, but the property owner has not taken action. Fines have been issued for more than a year, but they have not prompted a cleanup. 'There’s trash piling up, and strange activity,' Evans said. 'People are coming in and out all day long.' The property is now a safety hazard, with residents fearing debris could become airborne during severe weather and damage nearby homes. With hurricane season in full swing, neighbors are urging county officials to force the owner to clean up the lot. 'We need them to do something,' Evans said. 'This could be a disaster waiting to happen.'
