Marci Murphy, Executive Director of CareerSource Brevard Flagler Volusia (CSBFV), has been named the 2026 Toni Jennings Workforce Development Professional of the Year by the Florida Economic Development Council (FEDC). The award was presented during the FEDC’s IGNITE Annual Conference in May. Murphy began working for CSBFV in 2002 and has since focused on strategic planning, performance oversight, and program innovation to connect jobseekers with employers in key industries.
Murphy said the award reflects the work of her team and partnerships with local businesses, educators, and community groups. "This recognition is a result of collaboration," she said. "We’re focused on creating opportunities that help people succeed and grow the regional economy."
The Toni Jennings award honors a workforce professional who has made a significant impact on Florida’s workforce system. It is named after former Florida Lieutenant Governor Toni Jennings, who helped shape the state’s economic development initiatives. Murphy’s work has included expanding training programs and aligning education with industry needs in Brevard, Flagler, and Volusia counties.
The FEDC cited Murphy’s leadership in driving demand-driven solutions that benefit both workers and employers. Her efforts have included partnerships with local manufacturers, healthcare providers, and tech firms to address labor shortages and upskill workers. The award ceremony took place during the FEDC’s annual conference in Orlando, where leaders from across the state discussed workforce trends and economic growth strategies.
