Millennium Physician Group has announced a new physician partnership on the Space Coast, marking its latest step to increase access to specialized healthcare in Brevard County. The partnership, which includes two new medical providers, will focus on primary care and chronic disease management, according to a press release from the group. This move comes as the Space Coast continues to see population growth, with Brevard County’s population reaching 568,000 in 2023, according to U.S. Census data.
The group plans to open a new clinic in Palm Bay by the end of 2024, adding to its existing locations in Melbourne, Cocoa, and Titusville. The new facility will serve an estimated 10,000 patients annually, with a focus on underserved areas of the county. 'We’re seeing more residents seeking care closer to home,' said Dr. Emily Carter, a primary care physician with Millennium. 'This expansion helps us meet that need.'
The partnership also includes a collaboration with Florida Hospital’s satellite clinics in the region, allowing for shared electronic health records and streamlined referrals. This integration aims to reduce wait times for specialty care, which currently average 14 days in Brevard, according to county health department data. The group has committed to hiring 25 new staff members over the next 18 months, with positions open in nursing, medical assisting, and administrative roles.
Millennium Physician Group has operated in Brevard since 2018, with a focus on preventive care and community health initiatives. The new partnership is part of a broader strategy to address healthcare disparities in the county, where rural areas often have limited access to specialists.
