Memorial Day in Brevard County this year will feature a series of events honoring fallen service members, with activities spanning from May 22 to May 25. The Rolling Thunder Ride for Freedom, organized by Rolling Thunder Florida, will take place from May 22 to 24 at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center on Merritt Island. A separate Memorial Day ceremony will occur at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center on May 25 starting at 9:30 a.m. The event will include two speakers addressing both Memorial Day and America’s 250th anniversary. On the same day, a “Remember and Honor” observance will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in North Mims. The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. in the flag assembly area at 5525 US 1. Kayla Giuliano, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, will deliver the keynote speech. Mindy Levy of IHeart Radio Morning Show will serve as master of ceremonies. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and water.
