Melbourne Orlando International Airport is set to open a new rental car zone that will free 350 parking spaces near Terminal 2. The project, part of ongoing efforts to modernize the facility, aims to reduce congestion and improve efficiency for travelers. The rental car zone will be located adjacent to the terminal, allowing drivers to pick up and drop off vehicles without entering the main parking garage. This shift is expected to cut wait times for passengers and reduce bottlenecks during peak hours. The airport has not announced a specific completion date but said the work is progressing as part of a larger infrastructure plan.
The 350 freed spaces will be redirected to long-term parking areas, which have seen higher usage since the pandemic.
