LUNA Food & Wine will close its Cocoa Beach location on May 12, ending nearly nine years at 8 Minutemen Causeway. The restaurant will operate until its final evening on Monday, May 11, with owners LeeAnn and Chef Luca Filadi confirming the decision is a step back from daily operations rather than a retirement. Gift card holders can redeem their cards for cash through the restaurant’s website until the end of May.
The restaurant, which opened in 2017, will adjust its hours in the final weeks leading up to closure. From now until May 11, LUNA will be open 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Mondays, 5 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A special Mother’s Day service will also take place on May 10, opening at noon.
LeeAnn and Chef Luca Filadi, who co-own the restaurant, said the community has been a key part of their journey. LeeAnn called the decision to close “difficult but necessary,” adding that they plan to stay connected with customers through email updates about future events. Chef Luca, who grew up in his family’s European restaurant and has cooked internationally, said he has received invitations to collaborate on wine dinners at other restaurants.
The restaurant’s website, LunaFoodandWine.com, will remain active through May to process gift card redemptions. The Filadis emphasized they are not retiring but stepping back from daily management. They said they hope to see regular customers before the closure but will retain contact information to keep them informed of future projects.
LUNA’s departure marks the end of an era for the Cocoa Beach dining scene, where it served as a fixture since 2017. The restaurant’s final service will be on May 11, with permanent closure the following day.
