The City of Melbourne is closing one lane of Post Road between State Road 522 and the Melbourne Regional Airport from Feb. 3 to Feb. 5. The closure is part of ongoing road maintenance aimed at repairing potholes and resurfacing the roadway. Drivers are urged to plan alternate routes during the work window. The city said the closure will be marked with traffic cones and signage. Local officials confirmed the project is expected to take three days to complete. Post Road is a major thoroughfare connecting downtown Melbourne to the airport and the eastern part of the city. The lane closure will affect traffic during peak morning and evening commutes. City engineers have warned that delays could be up to 15 minutes during rush hours. The work is being funded through the city’s 2023 infrastructure budget.
