Argotec’s new U.S. facility at 744 N. Drive in Melbourne began operations in April 2026, marking the company’s first production site outside Italy. The 100,000-square-foot facility will manufacture high-priority satellites for government, defense, and commercial clients, with capacity to build 10 HEO satellites simultaneously and one HAWK PLUS platform monthly. The investment includes modular clean rooms and parallel integration lines to speed production.
The site is part of Argotec’s vertically integrated model, adapted from its SpacePark facility in Italy. CEO David Avino called the opening a 'major step' in the company’s U.S. expansion, noting the space industry’s demand for rapid delivery and scalability. 'The U.S. is the world’s most dynamic space market,' Avino said. 'This facility puts us closer to the scale and speed shaping the industry.'
The facility is expected to triple Argotec’s U.S. workforce within two years as it grows production and partners with local space companies. The Space Coast already hosts major aerospace firms like SpaceX and Blue Origin, and Argotec’s presence adds to the region’s satellite manufacturing cluster.
The site’s design allows quick adaptation to changing mission requirements, a key advantage for defense and commercial programs. Argotec plans to expand partnerships across the U.S. space ecosystem, with the Florida team playing a central role in the company’s international growth.
Local officials have not yet commented on the economic impact, but the facility’s $25 million investment and projected job growth could boost Melbourne’s aerospace sector. The site is located near the Kennedy Space Center, a strategic location for satellite and launch operations.
