The City of Melbourne is preparing to bring its annual Holiday Market and Snowfest to City Hall Park this December. The event will run from December 1 to December 24, offering residents and visitors a festive experience with holiday shopping, food vendors, and a temporary snow slide. The city has partnered with local businesses to ensure a variety of goods and services are available during the market.
City officials announced the event on Monday, emphasizing its role in boosting local commerce and community engagement. The snow slide, a popular attraction in previous years, will be set up near the park’s main entrance. The city has allocated $50,000 for event operations, including safety measures and vendor stipends.
Over 100 vendors are expected to participate, selling handmade crafts, holiday decorations, and seasonal food items. The market will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the snow slide open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Local schools and organizations will also host holiday-themed activities, including carol singing and craft workshops.
The event has become a staple of the holiday season in Brevard County, drawing thousands of visitors each year. City Manager Jennifer Lopez said the goal is to create a family-friendly environment while supporting small businesses. "This event is about bringing people together and celebrating the season," she said.
Residents are encouraged to visit the market and snow slide, which will be free to the public. The city will provide free parking in nearby lots and shuttle services from major transit hubs. For more details, visit the City of Melbourne’s website or follow their social media pages.
