The City of Melbourne is hosting its Halloween Spooktacular Indoor Trick or Treat event from October 29 to 31. The three-day festival takes place at the Melbourne Community Center, 100 N Lake Street, and features haunted house attractions, live music, and a costume contest. Organizers expect over 1,000 attendees each night.
The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly. Admission is free, but participants must pre-register online by October 25. Local businesses sponsor food vendors selling themed treats like pumpkin spice cupcakes and caramel apples.
City officials say the event has grown since its 2018 debut. Last year’s version drew 2,500 visitors. This year’s version includes a new interactive maze and a photo booth with Halloween props.
Melbourne Mayor Buddy Dyer said the event “shows how our community comes together.” Local schools and nonprofits help staff the event, which also includes a raffle with prizes donated by area businesses.
The final night includes a special performance by the Melbourne High School choir. The event ends at 9 p.m. October 31.
