GenH2, a hydrogen energy company based in Titusville, Florida, has sold its headquarters in a sale-leaseback deal to raise capital for its backlog of production and research projects. The transaction was finalized on September 10, 2026, according to company records. The sale allows GenH2 to retain use of the building while converting it into a revenue stream.
The headquarters, located at 1234 Innovation Drive in Titusville, was purchased by a private equity firm specializing in industrial real estate. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but industry insiders estimate the property’s value at around $8 million. GenH2 will continue to operate from the site under a long-term lease agreement.
The company cited a growing backlog of orders for its hydrogen fuel cell systems as a key reason for the sale. CEO Mark Thompson said the move will help fund the expansion of R&D labs and the hiring of additional engineers. “This deal gives us the flexibility to scale without taking on more debt,” Thompson said in a statement.
The sale comes as Brevard County’s hydrogen sector continues to grow. Nearby, SpaceX and other aerospace firms are investing in green energy initiatives. Local officials have noted increased interest in hydrogen as a clean energy alternative, though challenges remain in scaling production.
GenH2’s leaseback arrangement is expected to provide annual cash flow of approximately $1.2 million. The company plans to use the funds to reduce delays in manufacturing and accelerate testing of its next-generation fuel cell technology. No layoffs are expected at the Titusville facility, which employs about 150 people.
