Douglas Caraballo, a Miami-based developer who grew up in Cocoa Beach, is launching a new townhome community on Cape Canaveral’s barrier island. The project, called EverHome Living, features three-story townhomes with rooftop terraces that offer direct views of rocket launches from nearby Kennedy Space Center. Caraballo said the development aims to provide 'attainable luxury' at an average price of $650,000 per unit.
The townhomes will be 2,800 square feet each, with three or four bedrooms. They are part of EverHome’s first two developments in Florida, which also include a subdivision on the Gulf Coast. The company plans to expand to Orlando’s Horizon West community later this year, though that project will not include space launch views.
Caraballo, who described watching recent rocket launches as 'more miraculous than we give credit to,' emphasized that the development is targeted at the mid-market. 'We’re not a starter home company and we’re not a luxury custom builder,' he said. 'We’re focused on closing the gap between commoditized production housing and out-of-reach luxury.'
The Cape Canaveral project is expected to break ground in the coming months. EverHome has not yet released a timeline for the Orlando expansion. The company’s website shows renderings of the townhomes, which include modern designs and large open spaces.
Caraballo said the rooftop terraces are a unique selling point in the area. 'It’s going to be a lot of fun,' he said. 'The Cape has great memories for me. Watching the launches is still quite a show.'
