The Eastern Florida State College Foundation is hosting its 10th Annual Backyard BBQ & Family Fest on Saturday, February 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the EFSC Melbourne Campus, located at 3865 N. Wickham Road. The event aims to raise money for student scholarships through food, music, and family activities. Over 20 local BBQ teams will prepare meals, and live music will play throughout the afternoon. The festival is expected to draw hundreds of attendees from across Brevard County. This is the first time the event has been held since 2025. The EFSC Foundation has raised over $100,000 in scholarships since the festival's inception in 2016. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. Parking is available on-site. The event follows the Space Coast Key Lime Pie Festival in Viera and the Space Coast Spring Fair, which also opened on Saturday. The EFSC Foundation has partnered with local businesses to sponsor the event. Food will be sold from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival is part of the college's broader effort to support student financial aid. The event is held annually in February. The EFSC Melbourne Campus is located in the northern part of Melbourne. The festival is open to all ages. Local residents have praised the event for its community spirit and support of education. The EFSC Foundation plans to expand scholarship opportunities in the coming years.
