Jamie Smith, a freshman at Eastern Florida State College, has been named to the NJCAA Division I PING First Team All-American by the GCAA. The honor follows a strong season for Smith, who won individual titles at the districts, Bantams Invitational, and Seahawk Shootout in the fall. Smith finished tied for 36th at the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Newton, Kansas, in May 2026.
Smith’s achievements this season have positioned him among the top collegiate golfers in the nation. Alongside Smith on the PING First Team are Abe Bignell of McLennan, Charlie Preston of Indian Hills, Scott Spark of Midland, and Alexander Yap of Eastern Arizona. Smith also earned a spot on the GCAA All-Freshman team, joining Jules De Brauwere of Odessa, Michael Mayer of Weatherford, and Harry McArdle of Indian Hills.
The National Championships, held in Kansas, brought together the best talent from NJCAA Division I programs. Smith’s performance there, combined with his earlier tournament wins, highlights his consistency and skill. His coach noted that Smith’s work ethic and composure under pressure were key factors in his success this season.
