Rebellion Wine Bar will close its Cocoa Village location at 630 Brevard Ave. on May 30, according to co-owners Michelle Herndon and Joseph Yardley. The decision to merge operations with their Cocoa Beach location was described as 'bittersweet' in a social media post. The bar has served curated wines and small plates since opening in 2021. 'We will truly cherish the memories we created in Cocoa Village over the past four and a half years,' Herndon said. 'What made this place so special was never just the space itself, it was the many people inside of it.' The Cocoa Village location will host its final weekend of service on May 27-28. Meanwhile, the Cocoa Beach bar at 26 N. Orlando Ave. will expand with special events, wine pairing dinners and education classes. Yardley, a chef and co-owner, said the menu features elevated starters like beef carpaccio with capers and Hamachi tartare, along with hearty mains such as charred pork chop and roasted chicken with truffled jus. The bar also offers a curated selection of distinctive wines, craft cocktails and craft beers. The owners plan to host wine education classes at the Cocoa Beach location starting in June. 'We want to share our passion for wine with the community,' Yardley said. The Cocoa Village closure comes as the owners focus on growing their beachside presence. The Cocoa Beach bar has been open since 2023 and has become a local hub for dining and wine tasting. The expansion includes plans for more frequent events and partnerships with local winemakers. The owners did not specify how many staff members will remain after the closure. The final week of service in Cocoa Village will include discounted wine tastings and a farewell dinner on May 28.
